We are thrilled to kick off a brand-new series, Falcon Focus, where we shine light on and recognize the incredible individuals that make up Falcon Risk Services. We aim to celebrate the diversity, talent, and stories of our team members. Through these interviews, we hope to foster a sense of connection across our company and our broker community.
It is with great pleasure that we introduce Sarah Bacon, Vice President and Midwest Regional Leader of Cyber and Technology E&O for our first spotlight! Sarah joined us in October of 2022, and with over 12+ years of experience in the insurance industry, she is a driving force behind our cyber team. Sarah has been a tremendous asset to the team and we’re very happy to have her leading Falcon’s growth efforts with Midwest region brokers. She also runs multiple marathons every year, providing the rest of the team with their fitness aspirations.
But there is so much more to Sarah than just her impressive professional background and expertise. We recently sat down with Sarah to ask her some questions in hopes to get to know her in an informal setting.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I think it changed constantly but the two that come to mind are either a Registered Nurse or Veterinarian. As for why an RN, I’ve always had a love for caring for the elderly and it is still a passion of mine to this day. As for being a Vet, I enjoy animals of all kinds and species so growing up, it was a dream of mine to work with them.
What is something not work related of which you are most proud?
To date, I’ve completed twelve marathons around the world. I’m currently working towards completing all 6 of the Abbott World Marathon Majors (Six Star).
What is the best piece of career advice you ever received?
This is one that stuck with me from my old job: The 7 P’s (Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance) 😊
What is a charity or cause that is important to you?
I would say the Alzheimer’s Association and American Heart Association are the two organization that are most important to me. Whenever I have some time, I make it a priority to volunteer and give back to the community in any way that I can.
If you could only take 3 items onto a deserted island, what would they be?
Right now, I would say a dog, water, and a vodka martini mix. Sounds like a vacation to me! 🍸
